Service
Opportunities
WOWS is made up
of women from all walks of life, and there are many opportunities for you to
become involved. Your spiritual gifts -- whether teaching, speaking,
creative, helping, or even singing and theatrical -- WOWS has a place for
you! You are not required to be a member of Walnut Street -- just a
desire to be part of this wonderful fellowship.
Following are a few
opportunities to serve. If interested contact
WOWS Coordinator Mary Ann Tyler.

Help to host the “Spirit Riders” |
A Thursday night ministry by and for bikers and WSBC
neighbors. Marge and Al Brown and Bob and Jennie Lee Davis lead
the group in Bible study, pray and sharing of testimonies about God’s
work in their lives. WOWS help to fund the once-a-month supper for
the group. You could help by being a greeter/hospitality person,
by helping with the suppers, and by praying intentionally for the
persons being touched through this outreach. |
| |
Write notes |
Encourage our “Homebound” members.
In February, individual WOWS wrote notes to 61 homebounders! Contact
Jan Noland in our church office (589-5290) for names and addresses. |

Easter Basket Ministry
|
Help with our Easter remembrances for needy children and
homebound members. You can help assemble baskets (a few weeks
before Easter) and/or by donating items or cash funding (anytime during
the year).
We also appreciate any visitors to help deliver the baskets, as well as
a friendly contact to the recipients. This fun project began in
1999 by Linda Hook's daughter Angela and continues as a passion of
Linda's. This project is not merely the delivery of an Easter
basket, but an opportunity for visitation and outreach to homebound
members and friends. Contact Linda for more details. |

Help host the LOVE Group |
Each Wednesday night in our
Children's Building these “Ladies of Virtue Evolving” enjoy a fellowship
meal and participate in Bible study. You can help by attending and
encouraging the women and/or by helping to provide a meal. Contact Tina
Lewis (irp@walnutstreet.org;
589-5290 — Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday). |
